Thanked: 1Snobs? I never insinuated anyone here was being a snob? I like expensive things too and I completely understand the logic. I don't think, in fact, I ever used the word snob. But as I mentioned, if I had to go into this for even $80, 90 a 100 or more I probably would have never started the journey. Too much a risk right away on my wallet. At least this small cheap purchase has brought me to this place where the help has been great, and offer you made to try a real razor. This way if I do and find I do not think I'd like it I'm only in $26 for the 2 purchases. But like computers in 1987, ancient history, when I bought my first they were cheap. But as time went by and I really liked computers I bought more and laid out more for what I wanted. I also smoke a pipe about once a day. There as here, I'd love to go really expensive with it but I have one wood I like and a few corn cobs. I'm living on median SSI and keeping the family home now that it is mine and a truck up ... well many of you know. That's not a lot to live on. If I take to this I'll lay out some more eventually but I never would have to start up. It's all good. It's all worked well. Many thanks again! jack ":-Dx

Utopian wasn't aiming the "snob" comment at you.
He was just trying to set the record straight that the group frowns on those cheap razors because of their terrible performance and not the price. Some people never go crazy. What truly horrible lives they must lead - Charles Bukowski

Thanked: 433As a group we all cringe at those RSO's because they potentially turn off new users who get TERRIBLE shaves from them and we have to do damage control or we have to tell them that they wasted their money on those RSO's. randydance062449 and myself have helped a bunch of new users in our area and we really hate when a newbie brings one of those over as they can not really be honed

Thanked: 1Speaking of local. I have called a few barbers. I think 5 members are listed as Delaware members. Have sent a contact to one. Waiting to see what comes up. Actually used the filter RETIRED and got 1 of the 5. Thinking someone retired may have more time and patience to teach. But I'm putting searching out locals. Even using Facebook for users of straight razor. No luck there yet. I think I found a FB page but the last post was old. Means not active too much. Working on it!
