Out of interest, what soap are you using? Is it the same that you used before taking up a straight? The reason I ask is that apart from the nicks you look to have some 'blotches' - certain ingredients can cause this, particularly essential oils or a lanolin intolerance. In my case, lavender has to be avoided.
Might just be worthwhile trying a soap for sensitive skin for a few days.My service is good, fast and cheap. Select any two and discount the third.

Thanked: 7I'm using Taylor's of Bond street sensative skin cream. I think the blotches are a result o shaving over nicks that hadn't healed properly. It's looking a lot better now.

Thanked: 5I would suggest doing single passes for a bit.
I have a couple of really sensitive spots that I have to hit perfect to get a close shave without irritation. For me I really made progress when I went to single passes and concentrated on executing better technique. It's been just over a year for me now. I get better single pass shaves now then I did three pass shaves in the beginning. Once I could get my sensitive spots good without irritation I went back to doing multiple passes and shaved every other day. I still go back and forth in my routine.
Good luck. Everything will just get better once you find what works for you.
