No Styptic? Try This!
I absolutely had to share this finding as I was blown away yesterday. Yesterday while shaving with the shavette I scraped off a scab covering a rather deep and wide cut.
I ended up with just a large spot of dried blood there. Coming home I did some research how to stop scabbing. Here's what I did:
Held a piece of ice to the hole after washing away the blood with water. Cold water works also but ice is quicker to constrict the blood cells. Then I rubbed deodorant into it! The active ingredient was some huge compound that began with aluminum.
Just to be sure I then rubbed a little piece of paper towel in the deodorant and stuck it on the wound. Low and behold there is absolutely no scab this morning! Blew my mind.Last edited by Maxx; 11-10-2015 at 11:48 AM.

If your deodorant is aluminum based then I think that would make sense, and your hole will smell nice and not sweat to boot

Just some regular Degree deodorant. Seems aluminum is a common ingredient in both aluminum and chap stick also was a suggestion but hasn't tried it.

I've been using a ice-water wash cloth at the end of the shave.
9 times out of 10 those little weepers or nicks close up.

Thanked: 3215Yup, cold water rise, and Neosporin or Bactenecin at night works for quick healing and less scaring.
Good tip.

Thanked: 21Deodorant or Antiperspirant? Perhaps it doesn't matter, but I thought Deodorant didn't have the aluminum.
I know Arm and Hammer has a non-scented antiperspirant. I use it when I go hunting to reduce my odor in the field. Did it sting when applied? If so, the Arm and hammer doesn't have added scented chemicals which might reduce discomfort. Just a thought...

You can just buy a natural alum deodorant "stick" basically a lump of alum that looks a bit like a roll on.
