Thanked: 2First try with the Weck Sextoblade
So, after the Gold Dollar impressed me and I didn't cut myself or anything I thought I would try the Weck with the Personna blades. Incredible shave but I have several nicks. I pretty much know when they happened.
I get the feeling it is much sharper. I will say that it is a more comfortable grip. The metal scales stay out of the way easier. Now I just need to learn how to not fillet my face with it.

Angle and pressure. If you have a choice of other blades it would be worth trying as well. It is surprising how big a difference the right blade for your face can make in the shave.

As JFK 742 said angle and pressure. You need a very light touch. The personas are good blades and are most likely sharper then most straights but less keen then most also. The persona can be strop can extend the life of the blades some but not honed.

Thanked: 2Thanks. I think I was a bit too confident after my success with the straight razor. Also it was much less forgiving. Boy it was slick but there were several nicks.
Practice and patience will help I think.

Thanked: 4827I have one and like it too. The weight and feel is quite like a straight razor. I like the shave too.

Thanked: 2I definitely like the feel, it is just going to take a little time and a little more care. It really feels nice in the hand though.

Thanked: 2Second try was better but not perfect. This time no razor burn and the nicks were fewer. This time it was the against the grain pass. Starting at the beard line and going up was a little tricky. I'll get it.

Thanked: 4827For pressure issues shave the lather not the whiskers. As in try to get all the lather off without touch your skin.

Thanked: 2I was happy to not have the burns. L0L.
The main issue is that I seem to sometimes get set up at the wrong angle. With the straight it wasn't a major deal but with this I have to be more careful of things like that.
I think this will help me develop better habits.
