Go to the Buy/Sell/Trade forum and post a message 'WTB: cheap shaveready razor'

I recently sold a shaveready wapienica for 25$ incl shipping.
I am sure that you could get something similar.

That would be cheaper than buying something first and then shipping it to someone for honing.
Plus you don't run the risk of paying an ebay seller for a razor that is also defective.

If you look carefully you'll notice frowns on many ebay specials. That's why I never buy anything with poor pix, it just saves you from disappointments.

Ok i will post in the for sale/trade forum for a cheap razor, as college has left me in the poor house. In the mean time I have been attempting to remove the frown on this razor, which appears to be working, though at the cost of having the far side more narrow than the hinge side, which is alright anyway since that side is now broken--It still needs more work but is getting less pronounced

For the money you plan to spend on ebay, you can buy from Billy's blades . He is also a member. He always sells quality razors and provides fast and dependable service.

For someone just starting out the best bet is to buy a razor in good condition from one of the guys here. When you go the Eboy route you never know what your going to get especially when you don't know much.

What concerns me more is the statement that you don't know if straight shaving is for you. Straight shaving is a skill that must be learned and it takes some time. There is no easy instant road to success. Its something you have to just make up your mind that you are going to learn. Down the road after you have mastered it you will be glad but if you attempt a few shaves you will probably get the feeling its not for you. Make sure you read all the help files here before you attempt your first shave.
