I would drive the two hours to DoughBoy and let him give you a honing lesson - he offered to help

Thanked: 2Best I can tell one is almost shave ready and might actually be okay. The other just bends the hair on my arm instead of cutting. I am not sure how used they were. I got them from someone who never used them who got them from someone who never used them. I think they both tried it once and then gave up on them.
There isn't a lot of rust but there is a little bit on both with a lot less on the little one.
I am looking on Amazon for a polish but most seem to have a metal specialty listed. I don't think stainless is right, and I know I don't need Aluminium. I am not seeing much else in the way of Steel polish aside from stainless steel. Would that work?

Just send me a PM when you think you will be in Crossville, come early and we can make a day of it. About any day but Sat. as my grandson is usually here then. For the next couple of weeks I have Occupational Therapy Tues & Thurs. mornings but other than that about any time will work.

Thanked: 2I have the Flitz polish. It had good ratings and I could get a small tube which was best for me at the time of the order. I have paid for the razors so they are officially and in all other ways mine now. It might be a minute before I come out there. Sundays could work if it works for you but I would also not be opposed to taking a day off work one Friday or something to come do it. I might be able to get some honing stones in February (after my tax return) if those would be necessary.
In the meantime I will work on polishing out the few rust spots.
Thanks DoughBoy, I would really appreciate that. Learning how to hone would be a real benefit for me to be able to maintain my razors without having to send them off when they need work would probably keep me semi-clean shaven from now on.
