Thanked: 1Question about j.a. Henckles straight razor (photo)
Hi everyone,
This photo is of a j.a. Henckles I've had for about a year. Based on the the logo and inscription can anyone tell me the year it was made, or roughly it's age? All I know is it's old and it's a good quality manufacturer.
Thanks!

hello Charliebrian24,
this henckels stamp is from 1900-1969 been jused.I guess because the low number of 50 your straight is from before the second World War .
Your Model is normal Carbonsteel and rare in contrast to "Friodursteel/Stainless-Steel".Greetings from Germany Markus.

I think it could be a bit newer. The scales looks as thou they are made from plastic. I'll guess 50-60. It's a nice razor, it will keep a very sharp edge. +12 and still hold a very sharp edge a long time. I have a couple of Henckles myself.

I think they changed how they applied the logo in the 30's, or at least that is when i think it changed. The newer Logos looked laser etched and are very weak.
There was also a lot more logos used than the few on that image too. That is the only image I have found that is useful for dating. They made razors for a very long time, 250 years ish. You cannot go wrong with a Henckels. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
