    Default Heavy blades vs light

I stink at searches, didn't see anything on this.

At the moment the only razor I have had time to get to shave ready is my DD Styledge. It's a 3/8 and light as heck. Easy to move around for sure.

I'm almost happy with my DD Dwarf (#2) but not quite there, it had a squared off edge that I'm reprofiling slowly. Next is the Unknown razor that came to me in a W&B coffin box, it has a sloping (smile?) edge that is taking me some time to get used to.

Now to my question (finally ), What should I expect in the range of blade sizes? I have an idea based on kitchen knives but I'm also thinking that comparing apples to grapefruit. What can I expect from the Unknown blade (that name may just stick...) vs the Styledge?

I've seen a few replies about wedges cutting differently but have no clue how that affects my face I know I need to try it to see the difference but at the moment I'm not in a possition to.

    Any insight would be great

DwarvenChef, i have 2 shave ready razors right now one is a Kinfolks blue steel 5/8 full hollow and a Buerco Burger Bros CO 4/8 sold wedge and there is a big difference!
first off the light full hollow blades give a lot of feed back when shaving where the wedge doesn't. also the weight of a wedge is nice it feels like the razor is reall doing all the work! hope this helps

Like uclicker said, there will be an absence of sound from the edge -- dampened really by the extra blade thickness behind the edge itself. I find that wedges feel like they are "sticking" to my face a little. This is due to the blade's surface actually touching the skin, as I shave.

I can't wait till I get the "Unknown" shaveing, It's starting to feel really good and I'm getting used to its weight. Kind of makes me want more like it... if I could ever find out what the heck it is
