    Default Finding Gold .......

............................ In your own shave drawer. Some will know this experience. To others I'd say dig deep.

Preparing to shave this morning I was rummaging through the razor pile when my eye spotted something familiar yet new. I pulled it out and wow! The only Sheffield blade I own. A Marples Beehive 13/16 half hollow surgical steel. Haven't seen this one for almost 2 years. Removed it from it's sheath and I swear it winked at me. Well hello again my old friend. It's been a long time.
    The die was cast ......

First few strokes a little tentative until memory kicked in and balance was restored. At that point it was pure and clean. Like I never set it down. What a wonderful shave. It always had a very keen edge. This one is solidly back in rotation. Can't even remember how it fell out but that's all history.

Keep your concentration high and your angles low!

Despite the high cost of living, it's still very popular.

I had a square point identical to that one, and it also had a fantastic edge. I sold it only because it wasn't getting much use. Maybe that was a mistake, I only shaved with it once, so I really didn't get to know it very well. I do remember the shave being very good.
