    Default One Year Anniversary

Today is my one year anniversary using a straight razor. I have learned so much this year and have much more still to learn. Will never go back to the grocery store razors, that is sure.

I don't suffer too bad from RAD and just have four daily razors and four daily brushes (all Thater 4292's 3,4,5,& 6). I am down to only Tabac as my soap and use that daily with a Dirty Bird Skuttle. Two strops, both 3" SRD's a Latigo and a English Bridle and also an SRD paddle.

Naniwa Super Stones; 1,3,5,8 & 12. Started learning to hone, too soon according to some, about three months in. Doing quite well and am able to keep all my razors going well and have done some from bevel set with success. Would like to get a 20K at some point.

So that's about it for now. Going to shave with my Ralf Aust 7/8 Spanish Point Horn, Thater 4292/6 and Tabac.

    Enjoy your day.

Well, you really dove in. Congrats on your success. You can't do much better on your equipment, I guess.

I'm at it about 1,5 years and still use the same brush (Muehle STF 23mm), a Sedef Shavette is my simple favorite and the R41 is my choice for body shaving and when I'm in a hurry. The most selection I have with my soaps and creams (6 in all). The Proraso Green is the only one that is a must until now.

    Keep your razors sharp,

Congratulations on one year of SR shaving.

There is nothing wrong with a minimalist approach to shaving.
