hello guys, just considering learning to shave with a straight. Wanted to introduce myself and see what this is all about

Straight razor shaving is about changing your shave to be something that is enjoyable instead of an everyday chore.

Start reading through the Beginner's Section in the Library. It will answer a lot of your questions about technique and equipment. Then find yourself a quality, professionally honed razor, a strop, some good soap, and start shaving. If you can find someone local to you that is already a straight user then reach out to them, an hour with someone teaching is better than days of reading. You can do a member search on this site and I know that there are some people in Atlanta, I'm pretty sure there are some people in Columbus as well.
