Noob gets 3 Passes without Dying!
Tried out my new straight from Josh Earl this AM and made three (cautious) passes on my first run out of the gates - WTG XTG and ATG. Only one nick on the chin. Did a final cleanup with my Gem G-Bar and all was well. I do think I probably dulled the edge a bit trying a few passes on the strop. Overall, for a first straight experience, it was great!
Thanks Josh!Last edited by Dewey; 06-06-2007 at 03:59 AM. Reason: typo

DEwey,
You're putting a lot of pressure on us newbs with three passes right off the bat.
Going to have to try it tomorrow...well at least think about it.

Hey Jeff, No Pressure! It was not perfect, by far - thus the clean up with the SE. But for a first try, I was happy. Keep us posted on your progress!

DEwey,
Glad to hear things went well. If you do accidentally dull the razor, just drop me a PM and we'll work something out.

DEwey,
Well, you inspired me so I went for the 3 pass shave this morning. The WTG, and XTG passes went well - a small nick on my chin but not too bad. The ATG wasn't as good as the razor stuck and pulled on my upper neck/chin area and on my cheeks. Didn't cut myself but landed some decent burn on my chin & cheeks to show for the effort. Cleaned up a bit with my Merkur Progress, but still missed a few spots.
Let's keep trying.

Thanks Josh. As you know, these words may come back to haunt you!
Jeff and Ryan - My 2nd attempt went pretty well but I skidded a bit on the ole chin and could feel a bit o'heat myself. Not too bad, though. Hope you guys are no worse for wear. See you in the forums!
