Default Learn from my mistakes (LFMM)

I havent being using a straight for a year yet but as wisdom is often gained from our mistakes and the wisest thing to do is learn from the mistakes others have made rather than commit them yourself. I thought this might help a few people or at least make them realize I am not a veryl wise man.

    1. When shaving half asleep DONT!. Now this isnt as bad as it seems, I knew I was half asleep and that shaving could be dangerous so I put on my smartass hat and pulled out the DE. Turns out shaving half asleep isnt a good idea even with a DE. When I got to work and was slightly more conscious I felt lots of stubble on my face, looking in the mirror I realized I had a 3 day mustache on the left side of my face and 3 day sideburns on the right side, along with some nice patchwork of whiskers on my chin. Of course that was one of the days my Boss actually showed up. Murphys law in action.

    2. If something isnt going right and or just dont feel right STOP! Pull out a DE or cartridge or dare I say electric razor or whatever you used to use and finish off. Now being a rather mule headed person it took me many repeats of this particular error to learn this. Suffice to say there was a lot of blood involved with this lesson.

    3. Dont lay your straight down without closing it unless you are really paying attention, a bit of clumsiness can result in it dropping and not sure about you but I shave after my shower barefoot. Razors are sharp, skin soft. Also you can nick or do worse to the blade. BTW I didnt amputate any toes to learn this leasson jsut a few scares, sometimes fear can be a powerful teacher!

That is all for now, Ill post more stupid stuff to avoid as I do them

If you want to count to 21 at bedtime, don't shave naked, bleary eyed, spaced out...or drunk!

    4. If you are sneezy, DO NOT try to shave between the sneezes, wait until it is all over, even if it means waiting til the soap dries out on your face

Keep a close eye out for the faucet. One slip can mean hours on the hones.

Shaving while drunk is obviously a mistake, but be careful while on allergy medication as well.
Hand started shaking, decided to put the straight down then cut finger putting a blade in the DE.
Decided not to shave that day.

It is a bad idea to do most things when drunk, except drinking of course and even then.....
Deciding not to shave can be a very wise move. I did a quick change (from closing to opening at work) after 2 11 hour shifts and this morning after my shower I looked at myself in the mirror with the straight in my hand, just shook my head and said nope, bad idea. See lesson 1.
    Apparently I can learn

    5. Do not let your mind wander keep it on the task at hand. First real cut Ive given myself in a while. Probably because I have started to get comfortable shaving.
