I just got a new e-bay cheapie for about $12 to make all of my early mistakes on!
(Gold Dollar 208 Carbon Steel Shaving Cut Throat Straight Razor Barber Salon 6/8")

Heh, it's a very popular story with us. I would recommend W.H. Morley & Sons and Schumate razors. Both fine razors that usually sell for cheap.
