Thanked: 12If you are using a shavette type razor, make sure the blade is sharp. I go to a place that uses them for neck mostly, but the do face shaves too. It always seams like the blade is a little dull, or maybe the angle is wrong or something; some tugging, some razor burn. Happens almost every time I am in for a hair cut.

Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

Thanked: 995I'll offer a grand welcome to a new UK member. At least one of us appreciates good humor. And because I simply can't resist now that the door has been nudged open and there simply must be a karmic balance to all the serious (excellent) advice.

Thanked: 96Welcome to a great source of information. You'll find the members very willing to share their experience and expertise. Whether you want it or not. Spent a lot of time in the UK in the late 60's and more recently 4 years ago. There was a place in London that sold hats, and I mean a lot of hats. Attached to it was the largest store with every type of razors known to the civilized world. I was told when I went it that a gentleman must have the proper tools to insure his appearance conveys a ora of success. I asked if my Gillette adjustable DE qualified me and the man walked away. My suggestion, don't loose your concentration.
