Should be here in a week. Will take lots of photos. It's tough to tell but there is an etching on the blade. Looks like an eagle and some writing. Hopefully some one can tell me how old this fella is??? I checked the database but couldn't find a match.

I also have to send it out for a honing.

Very nice for your first W&B. Ya, get it pro honed and it'll fly right to the top of your best shavers. Enjoy!

The next thing is the scales. I saw some things on ebay for scales. Need to find someone to put them on. Do you know if SRD does that?

Scales on that razor look pristine, if they're not original, they're a good rendition of the classic scales of the period.

I've replaced lots of scales on my razors when the originals were pooched, but if I were you, I'd keep the one's on it and get it pro-honed as mentioned.

If after a couple of months you hate the scales, then think of replacing them...beautiful razor - congrats!

Not correct for period, but kind of cool. Probably go with black ox scales.

There are small pits on the scales. I will get those pics soon. They would be fine, but RAD is a bitch.

I'm with Phrank. From the photos the scales look original. Same with the pins and collars. In my honest opinion, you'd be a fool to put modern scales on if the originals are still in tact. The pits will be bug bites, and it happens quite often to horn scales of this age. I tend to like any age marks that occur over the years, but that's just me.

And heavy as all get-out with those clunky slabs and brass liners.
