Thanked: 0Newbie here
I've been shaving with a safety razor for quite a while now. I came across a dubl duck special #1 in some of my grandfather's things. I would like to restore and use it but the blade looks uneven, I imagine from improper sharpening at some point. Can this blade be salvaged or it it just a keepsake?

Thanked: 33Either the pictures aren't great quality, my phone sucks, or my eyes have taken a turn. But it looks to me that it is in decent shaped and could be cleaned right up and honed in no time. I would look through classifieds / vendor page for professional honing help. Could look in directory too, as maybe there is someone nearby who could give you some hands on help that would go a long way.
Good luck

Thanked: 0Problem is when I lie the edge on a level, I can see daylight under the blade towards the center. I had started cleaning up one side of the blade when I noticed the issue. I polish my motorcycle constantly and used some of the same products and techniques. Thanks for the replies!

I would say it does have a frown on the edge. it isn't so bad that it couldn't be honed out, but definitely send it to a pro.

Welcome to SRP!
Hmmm, 24 hours ago I was in Rock Hill, SC with my hones. Oh well....
Check in the classifieds of this site, there are people there that do restoration and honing.
