Thanked: 0Does the plug help keep the scuttle water hotter? I use something similar to the following https://www.etsy.com/listing/2803311...=sr_gallery_11 but the water gets lukewarm pretty quickly. I usually refill it after my first pass (the bottom portion), relather, and then repeat after my XTG pass.

I got a G12 last winter. It keeps the lather warm through the entire shave using the method described by edhewitt. The only complaint I have is the bowl is a bit too small in diameter for easy lathering.
As for the plug, it does help prevent heat loss from the water, it also prevents water spillage while lathering.
Overall, I would rate it as a very good scuttle; it would be an excellent scuttle if the bowl was a bit larger.

Wow very nice. I also like the scuttles from dirtybird pottery. Really like that plug they included with it!
