Just so you are aware. This site wouldn't exist if there weren't people here who were interested in the hobby aspect. I welcome you but I find this post rather "unbecoming". Instead of trying to learn all you can and making a pleasant introduction for yourself. You are getting your back up and making ultimatums about your participation. Please do enjoy and join in the conversation but know people are going to give you advice. It's your choice on listening to it or not. The advice will sound similar "dog piling" as you put it because we try and point new members in the direction of success. That is our goal.
So again welcome aboard.

Thanked: 3226Welcome to the forum.
The only thing I'll say is there is a difference between knowing from reading and knowing from doing something successfully for quite some time.

Well you are right. You know everything there is to know from reading for a few hours. I apologize for assuming you didn't know how to shave, strop, and hone a straight razor. From you introduction stating you were new to the straight razor scene people would get the impression you didn't know these things.
I will also ask, do you change the engine in your car before you've learned to put gas in it? A professional edge at this point will be a good baseline for you to judge your efforts off of.
If we all were as good as you from reading for a few days I would work for NASA.

So you want to close your account? I am not sure but that seems to be what you are hinting at.
