Default Newbie question about a strop

    Hi all!
My name is Mark and I have decided to try my hand at a straight razor since I have enjoyed DE wet shaving for about a year. I just got my new strop from straight razor designs, a premium IV, and upon opening the box I notice it has what appears to be a small hairline verticle cut on it. The cut is less than 2 inches long, and is just deep enough that I can feel it with my fingernail. I am just wondering if this is something that will damage my razor when I start to use it, or should I consider returning it for a different one.
