Ah, that's working much better.
I guess I was just lazy. Just need to spend a couple minutes to get it right.

I've only done partial shaves, cheeks only. So I figured I didn't have to do as many laps as usually. After being honed by a pro, I did not strop prior to the first shave. Did my 1st shave, followed by 10 laps on linen to dry. Next shave, 5 on linen, 10 on leather pre, 10 on linen post. Shave wasn't as smooth as the last. Next shave, 10 linen, 20 on leather pre, 10 on linen post. Shave was worse than the last. Should I try to do a higher number of laps? I've practiced stropping with another razor and I feel my stropping is not bad at all. Again I only shaved my cheeks so I figured I didn't need to strop as much.

Stropping, done well is important and is a good thing. It cleans, smooths and improves the experience. The number of laps you're doing is much too low IMO. 20/60 would be my minimum, no matter how much face you're shaving.
