    Default Second Shave...I'm in heaven

Well, I just finished my second shave with the Straight and I'm LOVING it.

I nicked myself once, just a little, on the first shave and not at all on the second. Basically blood free so far! Though I have to laugh (in my head) when I'm doing it at how my mind shifts between being completely relaxed and enjoying the natural flow of the moment, to freaking out for half a second when it occurs to me I'm holding an incredibly sharp blade to my face.

The whole ritual takes me just a little longer than my old razor but I'm done in around 15 - 20 minutes so I'm not complaining. The experience is light years ahead of the old one.

Many thanks to everyone here for all their help and specifically, again, to Josh and Tony for supplying me with such quality wares.

    Congradulations, Captain -

I've been str8 shaving for more than a couple of months now, and I feel as you do. My only problem is that my beard wont grow fast enough for the next shave. I've been very fortunate in that my shaves have been great. Some of the newbes seem to really struggle with their shaves. Wait 'till you get in to honing(if you choose to). Now that's a learning curve that will last all your life. -but it's really cool when you can get a great shave from a razor that you sharpened. Like Lynn says, "it's like catching a trout on a fly that you tied".

Anyway, keep up the good work!

Yup - right behnd you Zep - I have too been at this only a few months and have been blessed with an easy and painless transition.

Congrats on joining the club Cap'n - you will learn the secret handshake soon. The "zen" of shaving (as I call it) is marvellous - that concentration that comes from having the sharpest thing you will ever hold against your jugular is an experience like no other.
