Default How to dismantle and clean a straight razor?

    Hello.

My Dovo is starting to rust near the handle. I can't reach the rust because it lives in the joint that connects the razor to the handle.
How can I split these two parts, clean and remove the rust and reconnect them?

    Thanks guys!

If you mean remove the scales, unless you have a custom razor like the Williams razors that are designed for this you can't do it easily. You will have to cut the pins and then repin the razor. You should be able to get a polishing cloth like cape cod into the joint and get the rust off without dismantling. Make sure you get some sterol or mineral oil into that area to prevent rust from forming.
