No extra fees for honing at classic edge. I have bought razor from Classic Edge and they are shave ready.

This should not be happening. Try a different soap. At the beginning angle and pressure are usually issues for a bot as well.
My wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed

I agree. I have sensitive skin and there are many soaps that I just can't use. If the soap is irritating me your skin it just isn't possible to get a good shave. Try using that soap with whatever you were shaving with before. If you still get that irritation, you know the soap is a problem. Proraso White works well for my sensitive skin.

Welcome! I got bad razor burn at first and it was caused by too much pressure. I lightened up my touch and made sure I prepped well and all was great
This is a terrific place to hang out. Don't feel stupid for asking questions, we were all new once and are glad to help you get your bearings!

I do remember adding honing to the basket when buying a new razor from them.

I had 2x Hickory axe handle blades that wouldn't cut butter from them. I returned them and they honed them for me at no extra cost.

Probably I just got unlucky with a few and like every one says they do come shave ready.

Although this was about 3 or 4 years ago . I've bought 9 blades from them in total. If only I knew about W&B back then

You are the very first person I have heard say that. I have been completely satisfied with the edge on the razors I bought there.

I ordered a dovo from them 4 or 5 years back, can't remember if I had to pay extra for honing, but it did come honed & truly ready. Well, as ready as any razor can ever be for an amateur. 2nd time out the gate I tapped the faucet & put a big ding in the blade.

My advice on pressure is this:
Ideally you'll have already decided exactly where your razor is going before it touches your face. When you go to make contact imagine you're just scooping the foam off your face. Don't think about shaving, or making sure you cut the whiskers, or anything like that, just scoot your blade under that lather nice & easy. Just like scooping a little icing off a piece of cake because there's too much. You don't mash your fork down into the icing, you just slide it in & scoop it off.
That's how my brain works, anyways

Just a thought. Maybe they hone each finished blade to a good standard but if you pay extra for honing , then they brake out the Escher ?
