    Default Regrinding

I would like someone to explain to me what happens when a razor is reground. Is it just the edge that is worked ? Also explain whether a flattened spine is on the side of the spine, Usually bilateral. By having a flattened spine then the difficulty in honing will be considerably greater because the angle of the edge to the spine is changed? Thanks for any information you may give as it will let me understand honing a bit better.

Regrinding deals with the whole blade and not just the edge. Usually it's hollowed out a littlebit more.
Flat sides on the spine aren't that much of a big deal. You're dealing with the angle between the closest part of the spine touching the hone and the edge. That should still leave it at about 15-20 degrees, which is the generally acceptable range for a straight razor.
