Thanked: 0Greetings and Salutations
Just a quick hello from a total straight razor noob wishing to experience this fine art. I've never used a straight, but have the bug. Been shaving with a safety razor for about six months, so I have various soaps, brushes, balms, etc. All I need now is your knowledge and guidance, plus the tools of the trade.
Looking forward to getting to know you all, and an education!

Welcome, hope you enjoy your stay. May I recommend that you keep an eye on the Buy/Sell/Trade forum. There is a good razor on sell at any given time. JoshEarl is the man to see about good razors. Other supplies are also sold there at times. Tony's is the place for your strops and other supplies. Mama Bear for your shaving soaps and aftershave. The peppermint and rose summertime aftershave is a must.
My two cents,
Ernest

And do not forget Lynn's DVD which is nearly a must. He'll show you the right way from honing to shaving. You can order by simply sending a PM "adjustme69" or purchase it with your order from classic shaving Another great place for new razors is vintage blades. Like Big_e said go to the well shaved gentleman for a strop, or for that matter a starter set. for soap you need to try Colleen at the gentlemans quarter, just PM "churley" and she will help you out.
not affiliated with any of these fine people just a very satisfied customer.Be just and fear not.

Thanked: 0Welcome Jim! I knew it would be a matter of time before you joined! I would also recommend Josh Earl for a razor, very easy and fast transaction! I am in the process of getting one of Tony Miller's strops from here http://shop.thewellshavedgentleman.com/ Welcome to a new acquisition disorder!
