Improving
well, on shave number 26 outta 100 ( 26/100)
Got rid of my DE after 6 SR shaves. Hooked.
always think I'm not stropping properly, but come out with that BBS shave. Always think my edge isn't sharp enough, but still gettin' that buttery feeling.
Chin is difficult so far, trying all kinds of angles, still have micro area with areas I have missed, workin' on that.
Was feeling that my face was dried out post shave, so, switched to cold water shaving, loving it. That worked. Less irritation, face feels cleaner & seems to be a closer shave.
Now, the problem is....
I want to strop 24 hrs a day, stop to smell all my soaps and Clubman aftershaves all the time and can't quit buying stuff daily.
I have the whipped dog on speed dial now.
Its bad enough now that I wish I could shave over and over and over and over......
I know, good gawd man, get a grip.

Thanked: 634Congrats. The chin is one of the hardest places. Takes a lot of stretching and short strokes.

I don't worry about the chin area. I grew a round beard.

You should find weekly meetings in your area that will help you cope with the "acquisition disorders", or you can just play like the first night in prison and go with it.
Congrats!Keep it safe and Cheers,

Thanked: 292As with many folks here, I love collecting razors, hones, strops, soaps, aftershaves, etc. However, if you give in to all of these acquisition disorders at the same time, you will soon find your spouse, girlfriend or significant other leaving you or at least making your life miserable, and the creditors foreclosing on your home, repossessing your car, etc. Thus, I make it a rule only to feed only one such disorder at a time.
Of course, in the spirit of full disclosure, I have been known to feed multiple disorders with only a brief respite between them.

Not sure what advice you've received about the chin, but I found that short strokes with the heel really helped me around the heel as I was starting out.
Keep it safe and Cheers,
Jer

I've been keeping my A.D. in the Razor area lately. But it dont take much for me to slip down that slope and start buying software again. Got to stay strong!!!
Good luck on the chin. I have a chin beard so I dont worry about it.It's just Sharpening, right?
