I regret the one and only time I opened a bottle of Lilac Vegetal.

I wish I would have started earlier so I could have found vintage blades easier, I have to do some serious leg work these days

When I got my first straight, there were over 100 NOS case razors. I got the cheapest one for 20ish bucks. If I knew then ehat I know now, I would've bought ever dang one.

Second was accidentally palm rubbing nivea balm on my srd strop. Totally bones the leather

I found a Geneva Cutlery straight at an antique shop for a song - restored it and rescaled it. It was the best shaver I had! Loved that razor - my wife would get sick of me rubbing my face and saying "feel how smooth - that Geneva Cutlery is awesome!"

Fast forward 6 months: I'm touching this razor up and looking through a handheld little 60x scope. I have the feet of the scope resting gently on the edge and I'm focusing in when my glasses, which I had slid up to the top of my head, come crashing down on top of the eye piece of the hand held and the shock transfers down the scope to the razor's edge and pops a 2 - 3 mm crack in the blade.... Sad day - and I regret not listening to the advice here to put little pieces of foam on the bottom of the feet.

Selling all those big huge mint Sheffield blades back in 07-08 for less than $50 each because they simply never fit my face
