Thanked: 0Can the Feather Artist Club SS use DE razors?
Hi Guys. Noob here.
I started shaving with a cheap no brand shavette several years ago and loved it because my skin is really sensitive and my beard tough. So I decided to take the next step now and buy a really cool shavette. The problem is that I live in Colombia and none of the cool shaving products are available, so I would have order the shavette from overseas, and the shipments are a bit expensive.
I love the way the Feather SS foldable looks like and it has great reviews, and I can find it on eBay for about 70$ shipment included, but the fact that every time I need new blades I will have to order them overseas is a problem.
So the big question, is there any way to adapt, cut, or mod in any way a regular double edge razor so it can fit the Feather SS?
I wouldn't mind the fact that DE razors are a bit shorter than the feather pro, as long as I can get a shave. I've seen the dovo shavette but the plastic holder seems like it won't last too much and all other shavette I've seen just remind me of my el-cheap-o shavette I already have.
Thanks

no you have to use Feather or Kai blades,, just order 40-60 of them its a small package,, so much of this is mail order I don't care where you live,, we got guys who live farther away from civilization than you do Tc, also if your skin is sensitive you may want the Kai blades

Thanked: 7Feather or Kai 50mm SE blades obviously fit. A 40mm SE blade from Personna, as used in a Schick Injector also fits, but is 10mm too short, so it's a poor solution.
... and to answer you question on a DE blade...... It does not work at all. I suppose if you had some means of accurately cutting the blade width down it might work, but then you're still stuck with a 40mm blade in the 50mm holder that is sub optimal.
