Thanked: 0Just getting started and need help
I recently acquired a small collection from a widow and would like help with identifying and cleaning up the razors without ruining them. I have photos but do not know how to post them. All help would be appreciated.
Thank you very much

Welcome aboard,,,,,,,,,,,
You can save your photos to your own computer & the text box that you just posted in will pull the photo from your computer & place it on the forum.
Read some of the threads in the "Restoration" area of the forum for ideas on how to clean your razors.

Welcome aboard, the razor looks as though it should clean up nicely. One thing I'll tell you, be careful of the gold wash on the blade. It doesn't take much at all to scrub or polish that away for good.
Some great advice has already been given, read, read, read. Check in the workshop thread and the library for restoration tips and advice. Also consider sending it out to be done professionally, not judging your skills. Reason being a razor can be ruined very quickly and this razor is in good shape.
Either way ask anything you need and enjoy.Nothing is fool proof, to a sufficiently talented fool...

Well this is what we are here for. Start sharing pics and the fellas here will happily guide you.
Some quick things, mothers mag and aluminum polish, old tooth brush, wd40 and 0000 steel wool will all get you started polishing and cleaning these up. If you share pics of all 13 it will help us help you. I would advise you hold off on the one blade you shared until you build a bit of a skill set. Start with one that doesn't have the gold on the blade.
Start posting them in the show and tell area or restoration/ customs thread. It will get you more exposure and helpNothing is fool proof, to a sufficiently talented fool...

Thanked: 3795I suppose the first question is, do you plan on using this newfound collection? That is, would you like to be able to shave with any of them?

Thanked: 4828When sharing pictures, pick ones that show the razor overall, just the makers mark and just the blade. The box typically adds very little information. There is a ton of information both on this site and with its members, and you will find most members quite willing to share. Welcome to the rabbit hole. Your location might be a handy bit when people are try to direct you to other resources. It does not have to be exact, just a general idea.
