Can't do valuations as it is against forum rules and I wouldn't have a clue anyway. Can say it was made after the late 1800s as it is stamped England and not just Sheffield alone. Stainless steel was not used in cutlery till after the 1920 1930s iirc. That is as close as I can get it.

I always thought that the animal stamped on top of the "in mind" was a bear. Could be interpreted as "bear in mind".

Found this English electroplate silver: marks and hallmarks of British silver plate: Aa-Az .

There are plenty of listings for Atkinson Bros in that big auction site on the net. From the looks of that you won't be retiring on your find as nice as it is.

Looks newer-ish to me. If that knife steel is finely grooved/ridged (looks to be but i cant tell for certain) instead of smooth then my money is on post-70's. embossing on the case makes me also lean towards a much newer set than the 30's. Cannot confirm either way, that's just what sticks out to me

That is the earliest I could see stainless steel used in British cutlery. I would agree with Butzy that it is likely much newer than that but an exact date is beyond me.

Sorry, but the answer is in the question.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
