Heck with nearby. I've never heard of that razor either and am curious about it.

989153 I would be willing to hone if for the cost of return postage just so that I can examine this razor. Please send me a PM if interested.

OK, with that out of my system - I'll throw in with everyone else. Time for it to visit someone that knows how to hone a straight razor.

I would take Utopian up on his offer of looking at your blade. Either the honing is off, or perhaps not using it for a few weeks there might be something off with your technique since you are still relatively new at it. Watch your angle and pressure always but in the meantime send your razor out to get checked to rule out the honing.

If you want to get a new straight razor for yourself, I have had very good luck with a seller who calls himself:
    april7th1989

He has a LOT of straight razors on ebay and his "shave ready" (in my experience) really means SHAVE READY!

Just did a quick search on ebay and found 791 results for shave ready straight razors under april7th1989.
Not all of his razors are shave ready.

    see: http://stores.ebay.com/april7th1989?...or+shave+ready

As a starter I prefer Solingen blades (due to the Solingen reputation.) Add the "solingen" parameter and you will find 215 razors.

If memory serves me correctly, he is located in or near New York City.
