    Default Why izit that.....

Why is it that when I shave after two or three days beard growth I get an incredible bbs face, but if I shave the very next day I'm irritated with less removal of stubble? I've tried this with different razors in a rotation, but the results are the same. Is it possible that I have a slow beard growth? I know after the bbs shave, I don't feel stubble for at least twelve hours and usually longer. Is my stubble too short to get the bbs again? I'm doing the wtg, atg, and xtg after the two or three days to get it to bbs. I know common sense says to just wait two days between shaves, but midway into the next day my grays show up, and just doesn't look cool.

I notice much of the same thing and I don't understand it either. I just shave every other or third day because it works better for me.

I think when you wait a day the hair is longer and that gives the razor something to really bite into. If you are shaving very short growth its just less and the blade will irritate the skin more and seem to shave poorer. Of course I don't have that problem I always get a BBS shave every time!

Hmmm. Ever since I lost the beard last October, my retentive nature has required that I shave every day. I just can't stand my face feeling like 50 grit; 2/0 steel wool was a completely different matter.

    every morning, Bruce

I shave every morning too, and sometimes I can go weeks and all is fine. But if I irritate my face skin just once, it starts a chain reaction where I continue to get irritation unless I leave the shave for a day or so. My head skin seems more forgiving.

I shave daily, too....although, I'll occassionally skip a Saturday morning shave, and I too notice that the shave after skipping a day is much closer than my daily shave.

In fact,, one of my favorites is to skip Saturday, not shave Sunday morning, mow the lawn and work up a sweat, then go to the health club and go for a swim, followed by a steam-room session and a straight shave...after all that water and steam, the beard hair is so soft you could scrape it off with a fingernail! After one of those shaves, I can easily go two days without shaving and barely notice it!

    -whatever
