Thanked: 0Hello from a beginner
Hi all,
Im just getting into this world of straight razors and shaving with them. Really enjoying it so far even though I have only recently purchased an old one to practice honing and making it useable. Did try shaving with it but think I need to sharpen it some more so will look on here for more info on that.
I did a bit of research before purchasing it and dont think I got a total dud. Ive attached an image so any one able to clarify year, make etc that would be appreciated. I have found one thread on here with a little info in a similar looking razor. Mine does seem to have a plastic handle and is stamped with sheffield and dagger on the tang. Razor was cleaned and sharpened before I tried shaving

Thanked: 227I would definitely give it a clean up with some polish to see better what you have.
What is your honing kit at the moment?

Welcome to the Forum!
There is a great deal of information in the Library on most aspects of shaving and maintenance.
And, there are quite a few persons here able to answer well formulated questions. That is why I recommend the library as a first stop so you know what things are called and that makes asking a question easier.
Again, Welcome to SRP!
