    Default Made The Jump

Been DE shaving for a long while and the SR bug bit. I decided on a Boker "Tree Brand" razor and strop from SRD but the razor is currently out of stock. I then started looking at the strop razor sets, they only offer Dovo razors, and started doing the math. Since I knew I would be ordering a Boker when they arrive and I need a Strop, why not order another razor. The Dovo 6/8 Black Bismarck in Ebony scales fit the bill. The strop is $13 more for that razor strop set, shaazam....the rest is history.....now waiting on the mail. Been shaving left handed for the last 4 weeks in preparation.

Welcome to SRP! Sounds like you've got a great start on your gear. Be sure to check out the library. There is tons of great info to be had there.

Not a bad idea practicing shaving with your left hand. I had only shaved with my right up until I switched to a straight razor. It didn't take long for me to adapt as I'm a former drummer and martial artist which requires using both hands so adapting was a short learning curve for me.

You might also try practicing with a butter knife to help establish blade angle, pressure (very light) and gain muscle memory plus you won't get cut.............

A little advice: Don't impede an 80,000 lbs. 18 wheeler tanker carrying hazardous chemicals.
