    Default Oiling pivot

My razors are getting a rust ring around the pivot pin. Do I need to add a drop of oil to this after each shave. I dry my razor and scales (inside and out)completely after each shave. I don't oil the blade anymore-PS to newbie honesters-make sure you remove all traces of oil from your blade before it touches your hone. You don't want to contaminate your hones' surface! I almost learned the hard way, but luckily I had my head on straight the first time I honed a straight last winter! Currently I have a three razor rotation with each razor being used once every week-one razor per shave every two, or three days.

What is the proper way to oil a straight? I have been putting a couple drops on each side of the blade. A drop on the pivot pin and a drop or two inside the shoulder.

I just use a little grease in the pivot once every month or two. I never wet that part (intentionally) and it seems to be keeping the rust at bay.
