Thread: Best shave

Im six weeks into SR shaving and today was my best shave ever. Close with no nicks or cuts. I think I'm finally getting the hang of it and it's thanks, in no small part, to all the help I've gotten from everyone here.

Good to hear, just don't get too over confident. Slow and easy still does it.

That's great news! That first time you feel like you have it is a great feeling. There will still be bumps in the road, as you get more confidence you will try new things and they won't always work (well that was my experience anyway). There are still improvements too so it's all good.

Six weeks sounds about right though, you are on track. I was getting comfortable and smooth at that point too. They say the average learning curve is about 100 shaves but I found when I was at your point the improvements were much smaller day to day but as the confidence grew it seemed like things clicked.

As Bob has very wisely said, don't let your guard down though.

WTG. I remember that feeling. There still will be some less than stellar shaves, but they will become less and less. Don't chase the perfect shave, it will come to you in time.
