I believe i have been using the razorrock alum in the plastic box. I drilled a few holes in the top of the box so it could dry better when closed. I seen some time back, someone had some alym that was clear and not milky. Thinking i might try to find some of that. Not that its any better than the milky stuff. Just looks nicer.
Alum is good stuff. I just dont leave it on my face for more than a minute before rincing it off. It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 38I rarely use it after the shave anymore, but use it as a deodorant daily. It's not an antiperspirant, but an effective deodorant. Stypic pencil for the rare cut.

Alum post shave treatment stems the flow of some of the bleeding.
Hyperbole is highly exaggerated.

I used to use it post shave. Now I prefer witch hazel followed by Nivea post shave balm.

I use it post shave and tend to leave it on for a few hours on occasion until I remember to rinse it off. But then I usually shave in the evenings a couple of hours before bedtime. If you did this in the morning before work you may see some white bits and dried alum on your face and it may allow for some interesting questions at your place of work. I find it works well for toning my skin and reducing or eliminating the occurrence of any pimples or blemishes. I have fairly oily skin.

it is cruelly lacking in photos

I use a stick of it after every shave. Just wet the end and rub it on my face. Honestly I'm not sure if it does anything but it's part of my routine
Keep your concentration high and your angles low!
Despite the high cost of living, it's still very popular.

I used to use it after shaving, apply leave for a bit and rinse off. But just lately I was getting a lot of dry skin on my face, so have stopped using it. Dry skin cleared right up.
