Thanked: 1Good Day
New guy here from Kansas City area. Currently using slant DE and planning to move on to a straight. Having issues surrounding proper angles and stropping. Think I killed the edge by improper stropping resulting in rough shave. Regards to all.

Your in a good area to get help, lots of members in that area. Plus your edge might not have been that good to start with, so get with someone get it HONED RIGHT. And a few weeks later and you,ll be shaving well. Do a member search then look for active members , they will help you. What razor is it? Tc

Welcome. Do some reading in the library and ask questions. Get to know the guys here and your shaves will get better all the time. Remember it takes many shaves for it to start to click. Stropping can be a bit tough to learn to do it right. Like what was said, Find a member in your area and send him a PM. You might find help right around the corner. And hands on is the best way to learn.
As TC said, What is your razor. Name, pics? Where did it come from? Who honed it for you? All this is important in knowing if you were starting out right in the beginning. It's just Sharpening, right?
