Default Got My First Ever Straight!!

It was sitting on my porch today when I got home from work It is a Wade and Butcher with bone scales. Needs lots of cleaning and a pro honing. It won't even shave arm hair at all but for $10 I'm not going to complain. I will use this one to practice my shaving and stropping techniques for a while as I have a Boker in the works which will be my shaver. I'll fix this one up later

    Enjoy!

(Scales are actually horn, not bone)

    Cheers

Nice! Full wedge it looks like. That's gonna be a challenge on the hone and a very different feel on the strop and in the shave from your Boker I suspect.

Thanks guys. I sterilized and cleaned it a little last night and the scales do look pretty good. Couldn't find Maas where I was at so I picked up a cleaner/polish called Method. I'll try it this evening. Also saw a cleaner called Bar Keepers Friend. That name sounded familiar but I couldn't remember where I had read about it or how good it was. Any thoughts of that? Thanks for setting it straight Ivo, I was told bone so that's what I went with, I didn't know any better . Yeah it is a full wedge so we'll see how it goes.

Go with your idea and get someone to hone it for you. Wedges can be a tad tough to hone .
    Nice looking razor
