    I'd suggest that 2 razors is the minimum, so that you can have a back-up if something cause one to go out of rotation. It could be sub-par stropping, a faucet "tap", or just dulling due to use. It also let's you send on to an experienced razor honer for a nominal amount, so you can have a "real" shave ready edge as a reference standard when you hone.

    I'm with Rezdog on this, regardless of your experience with knives,I'd recommend perfecting your shaving and stropping before trying to hone. Otherwise it can be like tryin to learn a unicycle before a bicycle...there are too many variables at the beginning to facilitate learning easily.

    hey shaunny, you could get yourself one of those towel warming cabinets (they are under $100) and you can load it full of hand towels and this makes the face prep go faster than having to heat a towel up under hot water two or three times before your good to make that first pass. for post shave use cold water and a sisal cloth to get any excess lather , also an alum block for any nicks. and finish with another hot towel just because its cold outside.
