Frustration
I have 2 straights, dovo 6/8 and wapienica. Use only wapi to learn and not to spoil dovo. The sharpened one with wapi lasts 5 to me shaved.
I have observed to put it very flat in the stone and without making pressure. 25 blows in 4000 and 100 in the 8000. It continues being rough. In favor of hair he goes well but con is very rough
Some idea? I am clogged.
Thanks for your help.

It looks like you're very close to shave ready. For starters, lap the Norton. There use the search function for one of MANY threads (just use "lap norton") as search terms.
After that do a pyramid (no pressure) and it will probably smooth out the kinks.
The other possibility is that your blade angle on the up-stroke is too extreme. If you flatten it down to 30 degrees, it may give you better results.

I have also proven with pyramids with same result. Single it lasts me for about 5 shaved.
Thanks for your help.

Greetings TO Barcelona, what a great city. We were there a couple years ago.
Aside from the angle mentioned above, my (admittedly newbie) thoughts say that against the grain is much more difficult. If the razor is too hard going against you may try adding an second pass of across the grain, then finish with a third pass against the grain. I find the less my against the grain pass has to remove, the better it goes.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Thanked: 9Some people aren't crazy about edges from Norton 8K. They are sharp and will shave, but they may feel harsh - as you say.
One of the first things you may try to refine the edge is stropping on Chromium Oxide (green stuff). Or you can also buy a Belgian stone - coticule and follow the Norton 8K with is. It gives a more pleasant edge, in my experience.
If the edge feels too rough - I'd either think it's not sharp / polished enough and it's pulling, OR it is overhoned. But if it's overhoned - I can't see you getting 5 shaves out of it. Best bet would be to get an experienced member in Barcelona to take a look at it. Or you can send it to one of the honemeisters in EU - Bruno, LX
Good luck
