Just Another Hello Thread

Hello, my name is Brad and I am 23 years old. I have been interested in shaving with a straight razor for a while now. I've been trying to do as much research as possible and finally took the plunge and I ordered a set of gear.

I ordered my gear from thewellshavedgentleman.com and got the DOVO 5/8 "Solingen Best Quality" razor with a hanging strop and a 4 sided paddle strop for about $180.
I found out about this website after lurking through these forums for a little while. I'm still waiting to get the set in the mail (I am a military member stationed in Germany) so it's going to be a few days.

I just thought I'd introduce myself to everyone and hopefully find some good newbie tutorials (I've found several already, but can't ever have too many ).

Chances are that blade will not be shave ready. Just so you know. Get a master to help you out. We've got some members in Europe who might be able to help.

He said that he hones the razor before shipping (Paid the extra $20 for that). So I'm thinking it will be shave ready.
