Hello Everyone
I am new to wet shaving (little over a month) and have been using DE safety razors. The past few weeks I have been bitten by the Str8 bug.. So I was told that thisis the place to go for all of the info and knowledge...
Hello Everyone!!
I dropped $10 on Ebay and this is what I got... I do not expect this to be anything more than a learning experience...
I got a semi-wedge blade made by CF Schwartz. Now it may be good, bad or horrible but for $10 to my door, it was worth the learning, or so I tell myself.
Anyone know anything about this str8 manufacturer??

Welcome, Paul
You've come to the right place alright. For every question you'll likely get more responses than you'll know what to do with, but keep charging ahead and it should all come into focus.
Hold that blade up and peer down the edge into the light to see if the edge is straight. It looks like it mighty be a little concave. Convex is fine, concave, not so much.
Anyhow, I'd definitely recommend you get it (or another) honed by one of the masters here. Then you'll know what shaving sharp really means.

Welcome Albert,
We can have lots of conversations if you'd like, I'm one of the few guys the government fully innoculated against anthrax before calmer heads stopped the experimental program.
Have fun!

I will have to look at it again... Like I said, I knew it was going to be a learner...
I too have been inoculated against anthrax, about 5 seconds after your arm felt like it was on fire from the inside out.

Let us know if you need any help with the razor, some serious honing may be in order and we can help you out with that.
It doesn't look too bad. Could be lighting too.

Yea I will try to post some better pictures..
?To be honest, it could be the ugliest razor ever made just as long as it shaves good enough to learn on.. RAD will come later
