Hmmm. That belly is only there because you allow it to be there.

Maybe that's the case for some. For me, I think it's genetic. When I tried to lose weight a while back, I lost weight on my face and around my chest, but everything below that would stay more or less the same. I've always had a lot of padding, no matter what I eat, no matter how little I eat, no matter how much or little I exercise. I guess I'm one of those people built for colder climes, and/or built to survive the next big famine...

Very true. However, I've grown quite attached to it and have little desire to cause something I'm so close to the tortuous and long-term suffering that would most certainly preceed it's eventual demise.

the males in my family have a tendency to get a small potbelly. I've never known my father without.

A week or 6 ago I weighed 80,5 and that was the last straw for me. I was at the point of no return regarding my belly, and I decided that I did not want to have one.

I am trying to work it off, and so far it is succeeding. Despite the increase in muscle mass due to increased excercise, I have lost 2,5 kilos and my pants already fit a lot better than they used to. And the outline of the sixpack is returning.

But it is really not that hard if you do it in a controlled way.
No more candy, no more fat snacks, no more chocolate and waffles.
Try to excercise for 20 minutes per day at the minimum, and do sit-ups and ab excercises at least once per day.

    Heresy! This is pure Heresy!
Just kidding, that is right on actually. I've started bicycling and doing sets of push-ups and have lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks. I still need to lay off the french toast but I can't help it, my appetite has almost doubled.

And I have also noticed that I don't want candy after excercise. It seems like the activity suppresses any desire for sweets. Especially after sit-ups I don't feel like eating anymore.
I've found that it is more useful to do 20 - 30 minutes of excercise every day then 1,5 hours 2 times per week.
The only thing I will not lay off is the small glass of whisky or Jenever before I go to bed.

    Default Commando?

You know... I just never gave it much thought about shaving "commando"... As I think about it, many things I find most pleasureable are done "commando." Somtimes I wonder where the expression came from. Commando? Fighting a war naked? I don't think THAT is a good idea. Commando? No underwear? Ouch! Zipper pinch! I could really care a less about something dressed up in matcho lingo like "Commando".
I shave in the raw always. Always have since a youngster. Never gave it a seconds thought. Just thought it was a good way for the "boys" to dry before dressing. Never gave the practice any funny names. Just did what felt natural.
Also, I wouldn't be to hasty to toss the DE unless its a piece of crap. I bought a nice Futur DE for traveling. I usually don't have time for the full straight razor extravaganza when traveling. It's enough just dealing with the jet lag! LOL. So far, outside of the straight razor shave, the DE is the only thing that comes close. The best thing I did was to pitch the M3 and other clones in the trash. No more rash, no more in-grown hairs, etc. And, when I'm home after a long travel, there is nothing like relaxing into a nice patient aromatic Straight Razor shave!
