    Default First Shave(revisited)

So after the dilemma described in my other post Dallas/Houston Honer I had my frist real shave thanks to AFDavis11.

I think it was providence that I did not shave with a sharpened straight razor for so long because all of my practice with the Disposable Diamond Edge blades made me prepared for the perfect shave. I knew how to shave at this point, and the shave was the best I have ever had. There was very little burning, and the beard disappeared after each stroke. One thing I noticed about a real straight vs. a disposable is the weight. It seems like the blade cuts much more smoothly when it is a real straight. Now I look forward to my shave (which is truly a miracle)

I still have some trouble areas (chin and upper neck) but I will work out the kinks eventually. Thanks for all of the support you have shown a newbie, and I would like to especially thank Davis for honing my razor!

P.S. Everyone in the DFW area come on the 1st of september for some Brewskies and straight razor talk.

It really is a rewarding experience getting your first shave under your belt. You'll find your technique and quality of shaves will only improve from here. Congrats!
