CBN - What is it?
I'm a relative newbie to straight shaving (3 months in) and have seen references to this along with Chromium Oxide and Diamond paste for maintaining an edge. I realize there are a million perspectives on doing this, but could someone clarify the differences for me and how they might be used to maintain an edge. I assume one would use the paste of choice with some lops and then strop. Please excuse my ignorance in these matters.

Thanked: 556Cubic Boron Nitride
It is a man made synthetic abrasive said to be as hard as or harder than diamond. It is available in suspensions that allow it to be applied to a stropping material as you would with diamond paste and chromium oxide.David

Thanks for your response. I already own a 3” paddle strap With a rough and a smooth side. How would I use CBN (is .25 microns good) to keep my edge?
