    Default Got a Goldedge Today

Ok, I just won a Goldedge Item number: 120155006428. I have read so much about DD and got all excited when I saw this one. However, I really expected it to go for much more than I paid ($36 + $3 shipping) and am beginning to wonder if there is something wrong with it that my untrained eye didn't see I had set my high bid to $52 not expecting to win but just hoping it would be overlooked by others and really expected it to sell $80 or higher. Any comments welcome.

I saw that goldedge, and the spine looked a bit worned out and the edge had a 'smile'. But I think 38 shipped is not bad for it.

looks like it has a lot of hone wear and a bit uneven at that but the handle looks good. still an ok price though. I picked one up a while back with a nice blade and very poor handle for the same money.
Between us we have a nice DD.

    Congratulations!

I'll have to post pics of the smiley satinedge I just finished honing. It shaves like a dream.

I may try to market that as the next new thing...

I had actually noticed the slight smile but am hoping it's not too bad. I now see what you mean by hone wear heliguy when I compared the spine to others for sale here. It's funny how when I let a razor go and it sells rather cheaply I think "dang why can't I get a deal like that" , then when I do get one fairly cheap I worry and think "dang, what's wrong with this" Fingers are crossed that this will be good usable razor. I hope I have as good results as you John. Oh, and I am still enjoying that Fram I got from you about a month ago.

I got what appeared to have been a never-used, hand-honed DD Special No. 1 for $75ish on ebay.
I love it, it appears the hype is warranted.
