Gentleshavers,

I have variously reported that my attempts at honing have met with what I consider dismal success. A couple of days ago I received in the mail an unremarkable but shave-ready razor which I bought from a very reputable ebay dealer. I shaved with it this morning - with not the best results. Now my observations here must not be construed as commenting negatively on either the seller or the razor, rather that the shave readiness of this razor has approximately the same shave-worthiness that I have been able to get from my attempts at honing.

Thus my epiphany is that it seems possible that I actually may be treading down the right path toward this near mytical ability to get a razor sharp enough to easily and comfortably shave with.
