Thanked: 0Wedding Success
3/4 yesfcsgo my daughter engaged and in some nostalgia, I started down this path of learning to do a traditional shave on her big day.
So I found a few blades at auction. Sharpened them as my planers and chisels and almost bled out trying to make it work. (exaggerating 😫😄 a little for effect)
Found this forum and learned essential honing skills and got a survivable blade.
Ultimately, one of your senior colleagues opted to hone the blades professionally and the difference is miraculous.
So anyway, I’ve been practicing and stropping and cutting myself for weeks. I woke early in her and did a lovely slow, intentional, meditative shave to start the big day.
I still have work to do on my own honing skills. But stropping seems to be going well.
Thanks yall!

Slow and steady and it will come together. It takes time. Congrats on getting past a bump in the road. Many more to come but its good when things start going right. Keep on keeping on.
It's just Sharpening, right?
